For your children/pre-teens to thrive emotionally (and thus academically too), they benefit greatly from spending time with you.
The best way to make this actually happen is to schedule the time in your diary daily.
This is best done at the start of your day (or even the evening before!) Just the same way you diarise your work commitments to make them actually happen.
And so if for instance you make 6pm - 8pm available for your children, then schedule what exactly you would like to happen in that time.
How long for supper? How long for help with homework? How long for just chatting and bonding?
This way you are able to ensure that work does not creep into family time and that time, daily, with your children enjoys some level of priority!
