Feeling frustrated with getting your child to do what they need to? In order for us to have reasonable age appropriate expectations for which we can hold our child accountable and which the child can also willingly take and feel ownership for (Yes!), we look at balancing our expectations with the child's ability to meet these expectations. We then consider the use of consequences to guide the child into making meaningful choices that support them. In all this, the example that we as moms/dads/caregivers model for the child can be really powerful in giving us the opportunity to enjoy a far more disciplined child at the end of the day.
