It is not easy or possible to pour out of an empty cup.

To be able to be a good parent to your tween, it is necessary that you look after yourself reasonably well to be able to have something to offer them.

This includes basics like being well exercised to feel fit. It need not be anything fancy; a brisk walk can do.

Eating on a timely basis (whatever that is for you). "A hungry man is an angry man" holds water here.

Getting enough sleep to feel well rested and interested in how your tween is faring. You do also need to guard your frame of mind; you want to maintain a balanced mood as you relate to them!

All this makes it possible for you to bring the best version of yourself to supporting your pre-teen as they transition into a teenager and subsequently a young adult under your much needed guidance.
